THE SAXON ARMS: Dave’s pride and joy, the Saxon Arms is a cosy, exceptionally well stocked and enjoyed pub. The ideal spot after a long day in the car, water or sun to simply relax, unwind and share stories with new friends whilst sipping on your drink of choice. We stock the local beer, Birkenhead, a must on your beer list to try – ice cold and on tap - and wines from the Overberg region, also a have to try!

The Saxon Arms has to be the best stocked pub in Gansbaai, but more important it has a warm and welcoming ambiance, is a place to relax, enjoy the gentle art of conversation and laughter, listen to old music and meet new friends!

THE SAXON RESTAURANT: Our restaurant is becoming known for serving the best seafood dinners in the area! We also offer a wide selection of other menu choices including Karoo Lamb; great South African Beef and Game, Traditional Indian and Thai curries and a wide selection of local and international cuisine to suite most tastes.

When we have larger groups staying with us, we offer an excellent 4-course buffet dinner, starting with fresh salads, yummy pate's and country breads; Hot home-made soup (in winter); Freshly caught line fish of the day (it doesn't get fresher than this as it's collected daily from the harbour!); Main courses always have 2 or 3 delicious choices, including vegetarian dishes; the buffet ends with a buffet desert table all weight watchers, of course!

A popular evening on request, for large groups we can offer: Traditional Fish or Meat Braais (South African Barbeque) or a selection of Potjie Pot cooking (very traditional African style cooking). These dinners are all cooked over an open fire, while you relax with a pre-dinner drink!

When the Lodge is quieter, our chef discusses each meal with guests and freshly prepares tailor made dishes to suite individual tastes!
